24 July 2007 – Claire Stocker gives invited overview of fetal origins of obesity at ICT XI

Claire Stocker, postdoctoral fellow at the Clore Laboratory, University of Buckingham, UK, attended the 11th International Congress of Toxicology (ICT XI), which was held this year in Montreal, Canada, on 15-19 July 2007.

Claire was invited to provide an overview to the session entitled Fetal Origins of Obesity: Environmental Influences. The speakers provided evidence for how modern day to day exposures to pollutants, smoking, alcohol and specific compounds could in fact be involved in early developmental programming and in increasing an individual’s susceptibility to metabolic disease in adulthood.
