Medicine and Health degrees

Our Schools of Medicine and Allied Health are hubs for professional healthcare training. We offer a range of Medicine and Health Sciences courses, from MB ChB Medicine and CertHE Medical Sciences (Pre-Med), to postgraduate courses for healthcare professionals.

Our unique 4.5-year, GMC-accredited medicine programme will develop you into a competent, safe and caring doctor, well equipped to progress in your chosen area. We introduce patient contact from as early as term one, giving you plenty of opportunities to interact and shadow leading practitioners. You will be taught both on-campus and at our clinical placements at nearby hospitals.

Our Medicine and Health Science courses are suited to both UK and international students. As an independent medical school, we have no cap on international student places

Medicine selection days

Our admissions process consists of three stages. The first is to submit an application with all supporting documentation, either directly or via UCAS. If the applicant meets or is predicted to meet the entry requirements, they are invited to the second stage for the Multiple Mini Assessment; computer-based tests consisting of tasks that test students’ analysis, interpretation and judgement.

Successful applicants are then invited to the third stage, the Multiple Mini Interview, consisting of a number of observed structured selection examinations. Exceptionally high performing students may receive an offer after stage two. All other offers are made after the Multiple Mini Interview events.
